SPEAKER ROMUALDEZ RENEWS PARTNERSHIP WITH BUSINESS SECTOR FOR PH ECONOMIC GROWTH

Speaker Ferdinand Martin Romualdez on Thursday addressed members of the Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PCCI) at their Third General Membership Meeting (GMM), with the theme “The Economic Legislative Agenda: Priorities and Gameplans.” During his speech, Speaker Romualdez highlighted the unwavering commitment of the House of Representatives to work together with the business sector, which would help the Philippine economy bounce back from the pandemic. He particularly noted the lawmakers’ passage of House Concurrent Resolution No. 2, supporting the Marcos Administration 2022-2028 Medium-Term Fiscal Framework that ultimately seeks to create more quality jobs for Filipinos and reduce poverty in the country. The GMM also allowed for the Speaker to outline the 19th Congress’ legislative priorities, as well as for the PCCI members to petition for proposals that could help in enacting laws relevant to the business sector. At the latter part of the program, the attendees were given the opportunity to pose their queries in an open forum. For this part, Speaker Romualdez was joined by Manila Rep. Ernesto Dionisio. Thereafter, PCCI President George Barcelon, together with PCCI Honorary Chair Alegria Sibal-Limjoco, presented a token of appreciation to Speaker Romualdez.
