Health and fitness enthusiasts at the House of Representatives pursued the “Thursday Zumba” session, unfazed by the heavy downpour. The “Thursday Zumba” done every other week aims to promote the health and wellness of House Secretariat officials and employees, as well as congressional staff. The fitness activity is usually held at the House rear entrance but because of today’s heavy downpour, the participants pursued the Zumba session at the rear entrance lobby. The fitness activity is an initiative of Speaker Lord Allan Velasco and Secretary General Mark Llandro Mendoza to promote the physical and mental health of the House workforce, while fostering camaraderie among the participants. It also forms part of a series of health and wellness activities under the “Wellness in the Workplace” Program organized by the Human Resource Management Service (HRMS) and the Administrative Department, in coordination with the Office of the Secretary General. The participants led by HRMS Director Annabelle Hufanda enjoyed the hour-long fitness session with Zumba instructor Carmendo Ensomo Jr.
