US EMBASSY CDA VARIAVA PAYS COURTESY CALL TO SPEAKER VELASCO

House leaders headed by Speaker Lord Allan Velasco cordially received United States Embassy Deputy Chief of Mission and Chargé d’Affaires Heather Catherine Variava during a courtesy call on Monday at the House of Representatives. CDA Variava was also joined by Political Officer Kevin Riley. Meanwhile, the House Contingent consisted of Majority Leader Ferdinand Martin Romualdez, Deputy Speakers Rose Marie "Baby" Arenas, Kristine Singson-Meehan, Juan Pablo Bondoc, Bernadette Herrera, and Michael Romero, as well as Committee on Ways and Means Chairperson Rep. Joey Sarte Salceda (2nd District, Albay), and Committee on Economic Affairs Chairperson Rep. Sharon Garin (Party-list, AAMBIS-OWA). After exchanging greetings and tokens, Speaker Velasco and CDA Variava, along with other legislators, entered into a dialogue on the Philippines-United States relations. Prior to the official meeting, CDA Variava likewise had the opportunity to visit the Plenary Hall, where she was toured around by Inter-Parliamentary and Public Affairs Department (IPAD) Deputy Secretary General Atty. Gracelda Andres and Executive Director Lourdes Rajini Rye.
