HB 6850 – Amending Sec. 9 of RA 10583, or the law converting the Mountain Province State Polytechnic College into a state university to be known as the Mountain Province State University (by designating the incumbent President of the Mountain Province State Polytechnic College as the first President of the converted university in order to effect a smooth transition from a state college to a state university) (Rep. Maximo Dalog Jr.)

Report of the Commission on Higher Education on the status of compliance of the following schools with the requirements for their conversion into or establishment of a state college or state university under various laws:

• Mountain Province State Polytechnic College (RA 10583, as amended by RA 11011) – Converting the Mountain Province State Polytechnic College into a state university to be known as the Mountain Province State University;

• Compostela Valley State College (RA 10598, as amended by RA 11008) – Establishing the Compostela Valley State College;

• Palompon Institute of Technology (RA 10599, as amended by RA 11309) – Converting the Palompon Institute of Technology into a maritime state university to be known as the Palompon Polytechnic State University;

• Dr. Emilio B. Espinosa Sr. Memorial State College of Agriculture and Technology (RA 11171 – Converting the Dr. Emilio B. Espinosa, Sr. Memorial State College of Agriculture and Technology into a state university to be known as Dr. Emilio B. Espinosa Sr.-Masbate State University);

• Northwestern Mindanao State College of Science and Technology (RA 11186 – Converting the Northwestern Mindanao State College of Science and Technology into a state university to be known as the University of Northwestern Mindanao);

• Oroquieta Agro-Industrial School (RA 11282 – Converting the Oroquieta Agro-Industrial School into a state college to be known as the Misamis Occidental State College);

• Camarines Sur Polytechnic Colleges (RA 11283 – Converting the Camarines Sur Polytechnic College into a state university to be known as the Polytechnic University of Bicol);

• Marinduque State College (RA 11334 – Converting the Marinduque State College into a state university to be known as the Marinduque State University); and

• Camarines Norte State College (RA 11399 – Converting the Camarines Norte State College into a state university to be known as the University of Camarines Norte)

• Basilan State College (RA 11554 – Converting the Basilan State College into a university to be known as the Basilan State University);

• Abra State Institute of Science and Technology (RA 11574 – Converting the Abra State Institute of Science and Technology into a state university to be known as the University of Abra);

• Bicol State College of Applied Sciences and Technology (RA 11585 – Converting the Bicol State College of Applied Sciences and Technology into a university to be known as the Southeast Asian University of Technology);

• Agusan del Sur College of Agriculture and Technology (RA 11586 – Converting the Agusan Del Sur State College of Agriculture and Technology into a state university to be known as the Agusan del Sur State University);

• Occidental Mindoro State College (RA 11587 – Converting the Occidental Mindoro State College into a state university to be known as the Occidental Mindoro State University);

• Ilocos Sur Polytechnic State College (RA 11755 – Converting the Ilocos Sur Polytechnic State College and all its campuses into a state university to be known as the Ilocos Sur Philippines Polytechnic University);

• Bulacan Agricultural State College (RA 11783 – Converting the Bulacan Agricultural State College into a state university to be known as the Bulacan State Agricultural University);

• Iligan City National School of Fisheries (RA 11856 – Converting the Iligan City National School of Fisheries into a polytechnic state college to be known as the Iligan City Polytechnic State College); and

• Northern Negros State College of Science and Technology (RA 11859 – Converting the Northern Negros State College of Science and Technology into a state university to be known as the State University of Northern Negros).
