Lawmakers led by Speaker Feliciano Belmonte, Jr. and Minority Leader Danilo Suarez (3rd District, Quezon), paid tribute to the late Hon. Ignacio "Iggy" T. Arroyo, Jr., during morning necrological services on Monday, March 5, at the Plenary hall of the House of Representatives in Quezon City. Rep. Arroyo died on January 26 in London. Family members, including Ms. Alicia "Aleli" Morales-Arroyo, and Dina, one of Iggy’s daughters by his first wife, Marilyn Jacinto, former First Gentleman Mike Arroyo and Iggy's nephew, Rep. Diosdado "Dato" Arroyo, and noted musician John Lesaca, among others, were present as Eulogies were delivered by Belmonte, Suarez and Reps. Ma. Milagros Magsaysay of Zambales, Jeffrey Ferrer of Negros Occidental and Antonio Lagdameo of Davao del Norte. The Speaker also presented to Iggy's family a memorabilia highlighting his achievements as a lawmaker, especially the bills and resolutions that he espoused as three-term representative of the 5th District of Negross Occidental.
