The House Committee on Banks and Financial Intermediaries chaired by Rep. Junie Cua (1st District, Quirino) continues its efforts to ensure financial security for Filipino veterans amid the economic stability caused by the COVID-19 pandemic. On Thursday, the panel convened online to resume discussions on House Bill 6375, consolidating all subsequent amendments to the Charter of the Philippine Veterans Bank (PVB). During the meeting, Philippine Veterans Affairs Office Administrator Ernesto Carolina stressed that the PVB Board of Trustees must be expanded to conform to the expanded ownership prescribed in HB 6375. Carolina said this aligns with the objective of the bill to solidify the financial position of the PVB by opening the door for veterans of wars other than World War II, retired military personnel, and their immediate heirs. 30
