SUMAG DIVERSION TUNNEL PROJECT TO HELP EASE WATER CRISIS

House Minority Leader Danilo Suarez, chairman of the Committee on Public Accounts, in a hearing on Wednesday said that the House will lift the objection against the continuation of the construction of the Sumag River Diversion Project. He said once completed, the project will increase the water supply from Umiray River to the Angat Reservoir. Engr. Jose Dorado of the Metropolitan Waterworks and Sewerage System (MWSS) assured the panel that they can complete the diversion tunnel within the year, if they resume now. Also present during the briefing were Senior Deputy Majority Leader Rodante Marcoleta, Assistant Majority Leader Rosanna Vergara, Assistant Majority Leader Florida Robes, Deputy Minority Leader Anthony Bravo Ph.D., Deputy Minority Leader Luis Campos Jr., and Senior Deputy Minority Leader Jose Atienza Jr., as well as Reps.
