Deliberations are once again underway for the bicameral conference committee on the proposed Bangsamoro Basic Law (BBL) after a battery of subcommittee discussions on contentious provisions. The panel composed of members of the House of Representatives and the Senate on Tuesday afternoon resumed proceedings to reconcile disagreeing provisions of their respective proposals, House Bill 6475 and Senate Bill 1717. In attendance for the resumption of deliberations were House Majority Leader Rodolfo FariƱas, Deputy Speaker Bai Sandra Sema and Reps. Juan Pablo Bondoc, Arthur Defensor Jr., Pedro Acharon Jr., Eugene De Vera, Romeo Acop, Khalid Dimaporo, Abdullah Dimaporo, Celso Lobregat, Amihilda Sangcopan, Mauyag Papandayan Jr., Wilter Wee Palma II, Ruby Sahali, Johnny Ty Pimentel, Rodolfo Albano III, Shernee Abubakar Tan, and Leopoldo Bataoil. Senators present were Senate Majority Leader Juan Miguel Zubiri, and Senators Francis Escudero, Sonny Angara, Aquilino Pimentel III, Risa Hontiveros, and Francis Pangilinan. (P Camero / CMB Engracia)
