BBL harmonization

Harmonization of the House bills on the proposed Bangsamoro Basic Law (BBL) will be top priority, said chairperson Rep. Wilter Wee Palma II (1st District, Zamboanga Sibugay). Palma said that matters of contention would be elevated to the mother committee on local government. He also welcomed the participation of representatives who are not committee members, though their objections can only be voiced through official members. The subcommittee comprised of representatives from the committees on local government, Muslim affairs, and peace, reconciliation and unity on Tuesday opened discussions to consolidate HB 92 by Rep. Bai Sandra Sinsuat Sema (1st District, Maguindanao), HB 6121 by Rep. Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo (2nd District, Pampanga), HB 6263 by Rep. Mohamad Khalid Dimaporo (1st District, Lanao del Norte), and HB 6475 by Rep. Pantaleon Alvarez (1st District, Davao del Norte), Rep. Rodolfo FariƱas (1st District, Ilocos Norte), Rep. Danilo Suarez (3rd District, Quezon), Rep. Bai Sandra Sinsuat Sema, Rep. Ruby Sahali (Lone District, Tawi-Tawi), Rep. Mauyag Papandayan (2nd District, Lanao del Sur), / CMBE/GM
