House Speaker Pantaleon Alvarez thanks his colleagues for continuously working hard to pass vital socio-economic bills that will benefit the people, during a plenary session on Wednesday.

Legislators approved on third and final reading six important measures, specifically: An Act Providing for a Magna Carta of the Poor (HB 5811); The Public Land Act (HB 691); The Comprehensive Firearms And Ammunition Regulation Act (HB 5750); An Act Institutionalizing the Balik Scientist Program (HB 5792); An Act Reverting Fish Ponds Which Have Been Unutilized Or Abandoned For A Period Of Three Years To Forest Lands (HB 5799); An Act Regulating the Practice of Employers In Posting Notices of Termination of Employment of Former Employees In Newspapers, Social Media, And Other Public Information Venues (5818); and An Act Creating Three Additional Branches Of The Regional Trial Court In The Province Of Laguna To Be Stationed In Calamba City (HB 5903).

House members also elected Rep. Linabelle Ruth Villarica (4th District, Bulacan) as Deputy Speaker for Central Luzon; Rep. Ana Cristina Siquian Go (2nd District, Isabela) as chairperson of the committee on foreign affairs; and Rep. Mario Vittorio Mariño (5th District, Batangas) as chairperson of the committee on civil service and professional regulation.
