In line with the government's to reform the educational system, the Commission on Higher Education has ordered the closure of schools found to have offered substandard nursing and maritime courses. CHEd also announced it will impose a moratorium on oversubscribed college degrees, resulting in a glut of unemployed graduates in nursing, hotel and restaurant management, information technology, teacher education and business administration.
